There are no longer state-imposed restrictions on farmers' market capacities (indoor or outdoor). Markets may choose to operate at full capacity! Social distancing is still recommended, as is masking for people not fully vaccinated, however, neither are required. Individual farmers' markets though may opt to continue to implement policies such as masking and social distancing as they feel necessary to protect those not fully vaccinated. Local ordinances may also dictate certain policies remain in place.
Sampling at farmers' markets is now allowed once again. Sampling is a great way to show off your amazing products! You must follow all state of Minnesota requirements for sampling. See details for Safe Food Sampling for Farmers' Market Vendors.
After 5 years of no price increases, the underwriters for our insurance policy have increased premiums an average of 5.25%. To keep things simple and sustainable, we are raising the price for our membership and insurance packages for both vendors and markets by $10 for 2021. We have always strived to have the most affordable coverage for our hardworking market folks, and even with this price increase we still believe this is by far the most inexpensive policy you can find for farmers' market coverage.
