If you’re a livestock farmer who wants to learn the basic vet skills needed to provide sustainable care for your livestock, join The Wifery Livestock Skills Consortium on October 19. You will receive both textbook and hands-on training, as well the equipment needed to perform these skills:

  • Basic anatomy & health stats
  • Taking vitals
  • Giving shots (IM, SQ)
  • Drawing blood, tubing
  • Dressing wounds, lancing abscesses
  • Suturing & stapling wounds
  • Setting a leg
  • Multiple solutions: certified organic to pharmaceuticals
  • More if time allows


Cost is $50 per attendee. You will receive training and a vet kit with $100+ worth of the needed equipment & supplies to perform the skills.


Class size is limited to 22. We'll need a minimum of 10 to hold the class. Registration closes October 15. Pre-registration and payment is required.

  • Lindsey Zemanek, livestock farmer & trained specialist in nature-based therapeutics


Tips for a successful workshop

  • Wear clean clothes and shoes for biosecurity purposes
  • Dress appropriately to handle livestock
  • Bring your own food for the day; we will provide beverages
  • A port-a-potty and handwashing station are available on the farm
  • Optional: bring a laptop if you have one (don’t forget your power cord)
